The 8th National Conference on Organolanthanide Chemistry was successfully held in Changchun from August 19 to 22, 2025. Organized by the Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry (CIAC) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the conference was themed “Fundamentals and Applications,” aiming to provide a high-level academic exchange platform for researchers in this field, showcase the latest research advancements, and promote the exploration of cutting-edge disciplines as well as the integration of industry, academia, and research. The conference chair was Professor Dongmei Cui from the Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry.

The conference began with opening speeches by Director Jun Liu of the Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry and Director Yongfeng Men of the State Key Laboratory of Polymer Science and Technology. The event featured distinguished experts in the field of organolanthanide chemistry, including Academician Xiaoming Feng, Academician Zuowei Xie, Professor Zhaomin Hou, Professor Chunming Cui, and Professor Shaowu Wang. It attracted over 150 experts and scholars from universities, research institutions, and related enterprises across the country.

A total of 30 academic presentations were delivered during the conference, covering many cutting-edge topics such as the synthesis and reactions of organolanthanide compounds, catalytic mechanisms, functional molecule design, and material innovation. The attendees engaged in lively discussions on current hot topics and challenges in the field, not only charting the future development of organolanthanide chemistry in China but also providing valuable learning and collaboration opportunities for young researchers.

The conference received strong support from the Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, the State Key Laboratory of Polymer Science and Technology, as well as companies including Vigor Technology, Yifeng Technology, Beijing APURIS Technology Co., Ltd., Beijing Century Senlang Experimental Instrument Co., Ltd., and Shanghai Laibei Scientific Instrument Co., Ltd. The successful hosting of this conference will further solidify China’s leading international position in organolanthanide chemistry and promote the effective integration of fundamental research and industrial applications.
